This medium sized stone arch bridge crosses an unnamed stream along Iowa Highway 4, south of Wallingford.
Built in 1888, the bridge features a single span of stone arch. This single arch rests on stone abutments, and has a date carving on the east face.
Stone arches like this are common on railroads throughout America. Durable and simple, most continue to serve today.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in excellent condition. Virtually no deterioration was seen on the bridge.
